As March 2020 played out the country dramatically changed. Schools shut, churches closed their doors and everyone was placed into lockdown as the coronavirus pandemic swept the world.
During this time I stepped up and used my creative skills to bless the local and wider Church.
On 19th March 2020 I set up the website - UK Church Online. A website almost like a one stop shop for people to find ways of connecting as Church online. The website hosts a weekly list of church services from TV, radio broadcasts and online services to engage with each week. Along with resources for kids, youth, church leaders, music, videos, films and so much more. Find out more about UK Church Online here.
The Parishes of Eye, Newborough and Thorney
Other projects I have worked on during this unique season has been the weekly online services for the churches I have been on placement at for my Theology, Ministry and Mission degree (2017-2020) - The Parishes of Eye, Newborough and Thorney. I started these videos by asking members of the church to create a short 3 minute encouraging message to upload every sunday. However since Palm Sunday the videos grew into a fully fledged service ranging from family services with puppets, to formal Holy Communion services, capturing the range of styles you can engage with scripture, worship and prayer. With the help of various helpers of all ages across the Parishes:
Worship, Reflection and Prayer
A week before lockdown I teamed up with some friends at Werrington Parish Church Youth, we saw that strange times were occurring, so decided to meet up to record some worship, short messages and prayers. This has turned into a weekly evening informal service called worship, reflection and prayer, headed up by myself and Newton, the Youth Minister for Werrington Parish Church and Ethan who heads up our worship for the videos:
